Join the ACM: There are a variety of rates available. Organizational memberships (covering those associated with your access center) are tiered according to your center’s annual budget.
A paid membership of any kind qualifies you to apply for scholarships from CTacm and ACM-NE to conferences. There is also a national listserv where members across the country share news and opinions on policy and technology; members should inquire from the national ACM office (see the link above). TelVue Connect has replaced the CMDN (Community Media Distribution Network) as a file-sharing service for ACM members–inquire from the national office.
No-cost “Community” memberships will get you on the national ACM and ACM-NE newsletter lists.
